Banyule Mayor used taxpayer funds to reward community group for factional work, IBAC hears

 A corruption inquiry has heard the Mayor of a Melbourne council successfully lobbied for state government grants to be given to a community group to reward factional work, with the leader then pocketing significant portions of the taxpayer funds.

IBAC is investigating the misuse of taxpayer money and community grants in the Victorian branch of the ALP.
